Flypucks are hockey training pucks designed to be used on rough surfaces like asphalt and pavement. Flypucks are designed to slide smoothly and replicate the feel of a regular hockey puck, they are a product of encore hockey and available for purchase here(affiliate link)
In the Living Room with the Flypucks
Here we take a detailed look at the fly pucks and show you what you get when you order them.
Flypuck information
Design
The pucks are made with a special type of plastic that is designed to slide smoothly on rough surfaces. They also have a recessed center which reduces contact points between the fly puck and pavement, meaning less friction, and better sliding! To me they look a bit like mini shuffleboard discs.
Size
The flypucks are the made to be the exact same size as a regular hockey puck to give you that puck like feel
Weight
There are three different weights available, 4oz, 6oz and 8oz. The 4oz flypuck is lighter than a regular puck and made for repetition, the 6oz is made to be the same weight as a regulation hockey puck and the 8oz is designed to build stickhandling and shooting muscles.
DVD
Each fly puck comes with a DVD that shows you a bunch of different off ice stickhandling drills. This is a great bonus to get because if you ever run out of drills, you could always pop in the DVD and try out some new moves.
